The Chaldean Oracles Vol. 1 By G.R.S. Mead

Publishing: 1908 by The Theosophical Publishing Society

Condition: Good+ / cover and spine have wear / these specific editions are usually in rougher shape

This cover variation is extremely scarce.

The Chaldean Oracles’ origins are unknown as well the entirety of the Oracles has been lost, we only retain fragments of the original text which was believed to be a single mystery-poem. So what are they? They seem to be a set of spiritual and philosophical texts that had a major influence on Hellenic culture. They are considered to be a blend of Platonic, Pythagorean, Orphic, and Stoic elements. Zoroaster is the one they are attributed to but do not be misled and think that a single individual is to be attributed. More than likely it was a handful of Initiates known as the Magi of Persia, or the spiritual Masters who went to look for Jesus when he was a baby.
